Evaluation question 2

I have tried to represent both teenagers and young adults and the music sub-genre in a stereotypical way, especially in the way I presented the model,  with the clothes she was wearing and how she did her make up. I tried to connote a sense of rebellion by using darker and vibrant colours which I felt represented the target audience.

An example of a page that features a majority of dark colours.

Question 6

Evaluation Question 1

Final Product.

Contents page layout design.

I have tried to follow the basic layouts of normal magazines whilst doing my contents page, whilst doing research into my sub-genre I noticed that almost all of the magazines I looked at actually had two tables of contents, one with just a duplicate of the front cover with arrows coming from them telling you what the page references were for, and the other was the rest of the pages.

Question 4.

Question Four:        Who would be the audience for your media product?
Age? Gender? General profile of your audience?

My target audience is for people (as its a unisex magazine) aged between 15-25, I took my target audience into consideration whilst producing my magazine, I used fresh and vibrant colours to connote youth and energy.

Another way I considered my audience was when I decided on what images to use. The subjects were in the same age range as my target audience, to try and make it more appealing for the target audience.

As I have tried to follow typical conventions of this sub-genre of magazines, I have attempted to use the more popular features, particuarily on the front cover to draw in the audience.

Progress shots

Contents page:

My initial layout for my front cover
I played around with the layout and added some more text in.
Initial layout for my DPS. (Has later since been changed back to the original layout.)

Toyed around with the positioning of the central image on the front cover, I decided I preferred the image more towards the left hand side.
Moved the images around a bit to create a framing technique on the article, drawing the attention of the viewers to it.
